The Pont du Gard site takes part in the annual European Heritage open days.
« 18 and 19 september 2010 This event was established in 1984 by the Ministry for Culture and is aimed at presenting and promoting the action of public authorities and all those who work towards the preservation and development of heritage, culture and knowledge.
For this event, the Pont du Gard site welcomes many visitors and opens its doors to the ancient conduits and Discovery Spaces (Espaces de Découverte) (museum, cinemas and Ludo)
Each year, the site also organizes events related to the national theme selected by the Ministry of Culture: games, conferences, events, guided tours …
» An European dimension
Since 1991 the Heritage Days have taken on a European-wide dimension.
Supported by the European Council and the European Union, some 47 countries now organise similar events.
Special theme tours and guided tours will be available to the general public over this weekend.
